ㅤ ⃰ GHOSTRUNNER. ㅤ The Ghostrunners of Dharma, an arcology housing the last remnants of humanity after Earth's ecological collapse, are the design of Dharma's architect, Adam Hamada. The perfect fusion of code and flesh, the first 100 Ghostrunners were peacekeepers, protectors, and anything else Adam wanted them to be. Adam and his research partner Mara, however, eventually grew apart because of their ideological differences and diverging plans for humanity, which culminated in ㅤMara's betrayal, Adam's death, and the slaughter of all 100 Ghostrunnersㅤ in the wake of her takeover of Dharma. Just shy of 20 years later, the Climbers, a revolutionary movement based in the base sector of the arcology, find the 74th Ghostrunner in disrepair and patch him up, but it is during the culmination of the Climbers' rebellion that GR - 074, or Jack as the Climbers would come to know him, reactivates. ㅤWith no memory or people, only death - dealing skills he slowly reawakens and the voice of the Architect AI guiding him, Jack vows to kill Mara and topple her oppressive regime,ㅤ all while aiding the Climbers through his alliance with one of its survivors, Zoe Avila.ㅤ ⃰ GHOSTRUNNER 2. ㅤ With Mara gone, Dharma Tower liberated, and Jack once again reactivated following the death of the Architect, humanity takes one step forward in its own liberation, but several steps back in the way of going about it. Within the span of a year, the power vacuum left by Mara's defeat is filled by the rise of criminal gangs and the divvying of territory and sectors as though they were prizes, all while the ordinary citizens of Dharma struggle to restart their lives. Jack is part of the Climbers now, the collective headed by Connor Muller, and remains the Climbers' bargaining chip when it comes to the trickiest of negotiations. ㅤOver the course of the gang wars, a different kind of Ghostrunners make themselves known: the Asura, a group of four led by Mitra.ㅤ They are bent on the reclamation of Dharma and the eradication of humanity; as a Ghostrunner himself, ㅤit becomes Jack's responsibility to track them down and stop them, hellbent on protecting Zoe and all those he's come to hold dear.ㅤ

ㅤ ⃰ CYBERPUNK 2077. ㅤ Details will be listed for now, to be written out eventually. TL;DR: Part of The Climbers, a small gang based in Watson's Megablock H11 embroiled in a city - spanning gang war, Jack finds his purpose to be twofold: one, keeping H11 and the Climbers from being torn apart by Night City's mercilessness; and two, tracking down the coalition of gang known only as the Asura, led by the quadripartite alliance of Rahu, Madhu, Ahriman and Mitra.ㅤ ⃰ DEUS EX. ㅤ A product of extensive experimentation with cybernetic augmentations and the integration of artificial intelligence, the Ghostrunners were once a project with the purpose of peacekeeping and protection, particularly where dignitaries and high - ranking members of society were concerned. However, the project came to an abrupt end thanks to Mara Hamada, founder of Hamada Robotics, who betrayed her research partner Adam and destroyed most of the Ghostrunners, reshaping the project in her own image. It is Ghostrunner - 074, or Jack, that would later be rebuilt by the Climbers; more specifically, by Zoe Avila, who would go on to help Jack topple Mara and lead to the collapse of the robotics firm.By 2029, following the disastrous Aug Incident of '27, Jack and the Climbers have gone into hiding, resurfacing only in some capacity to track down the Asura, a coalition of augmented military operatives hellbent on causing far too much trouble for an already too fragile world balance.ㅤ ⃰ GENERAL FANTASY. ㅤ No Androids? No problem. A soul wiped of all memory (if he even had those of it sown to begin with), 'Jack' is an errant automaton, realized with both steel and magic, with a deadly but kind streak as he travels the world in search of self - discovery.ㅤ ⃰ MODERN. ㅤ A state - of - the - art project and not - so - clandestine asset, GR - 074 or "Jack" is the purported first case of fully sentient artificial intelligence, though the truth behind his origins is hidden underneath seas of black ink. Having developed sentience at some point during the initial round of testing and integration, Jack deviates from his original purpose, rebels against his creator, and goes into hiding alongside the gang that takes him in without question, Zoe Avila and the Climbers. His true purpose now? Dealing with Mitra and the Asura, while ensuring the safety of Zoe and those he's come to care about.ㅤㅤ(easily adaptable to verses with a 'modern' setting, eg., Marvel, Detective Comics, etc.)ㅤ ⃰ SPACE SCIENCE FICTION. ㅤ (eg., Starfield, Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, etc.) Most of these verses will take place shortly after what are essentially the events of GR2 (but adapted to each specific setting), with ㅤJack having left Dharma to travel and engage in self - discoveryㅤ now that he essentially has his life and agency back. ㅤ ⃰ DHARMA TOWER. ㅤ The last remaining refuge for humanity following the Burst, the event that brought about the collapse of human civilization, and the arcology designed by scientist and engineer Adam Hamada, known to the populace of Dharma as The Architect. It is divided into two habitable halves: the Base, with sectors 1 through 5, and Dharma City itself. The social divide is stark and even cruel, with only a privileged few being able to live in the city, while the rest of the population thrived in their own way down in the Base.ㅤ ⃰ ADAM HAMADA. ㅤ Also known as The Architect, Adam is the visionary that designed and constructed Dharma Tower prior to the Burst. He would later go on to pioneer a myriad of technological advancements, chief among them being the Ghostrunner project. Throughout the years, however, Adam and his wife Mara's ideological differences widened a building rift between them: Adam wanted to safeguard humanity within Dharma, while Mara wanted to prepare them to return to the Outside. This would culminate in a coup orchestrated by Mara, in which Adam was killed and Ghostrunner - 074 injured and thrown down to the Base district, a fall that severely damaged him and left him comatose for 20 years. However Adam, in his hubris, had engineered a copy of himself, an artificial intelligence that would assume the mantle of The Architect, and thus his will would live on until his eventual second death at the hands of GR074, now known as Jack.ㅤ ⃰ THE CLIMBERS. ㅤ A rebel group based on Dharma's Base district, the Climbers were established by Connor Muller a few years prior to Jack's reactivation. In the face of Mara's increasingly tight - fisted and controlling regime, the Climbers orchestrated a coup of their own against Mara, now known as The Keymaster, but wouldn't get very far. Mara's forces, her Keys, saw to the elimination of most of the Climbers' ranks, thinning them out until only a few remained. Zoe Avila was one such Climber, a 25 year old engineer and firm detractor of the Keymaster's regime, and she would be the one to find GR074 and rebuild him. The Climbers gave GR074 the name Jack, on account of their description of him as being 'all jacked up' when they found him in the Base's Sector 5.ㅤ ⃰ THE GHOSTRUNNER PROJECT. ㅤ Brought to fruition by Adam and supported by Mara, the Ghostrunners were designed to be Dharma Tower's peacekeepers, akin to a police force, as well as anything else that the Hamadas needed their creations to be. The original number was 100, and for several years they would act as enforcers. Existing files on the Ghostrunner project, if any remain, are vague in the information they contain. Jack himself knows the GRs' origin, as Ghostrunner - 00 was originally a human who underwent extensive physical and neural augmentation, to the point the procedures broke him and made him into the exemplary machine the Hamadas wanted the Ghostrunners to be.A Ghostrunner's arsenal is comprised of myriad skills, most of which would easily lead to a GR's classification as an assassin if one happens to squint. As a biomechanical being, described as "the perfect fusion of flesh and code", Ghostrunners have superhuman endurance, reflexes, durability and mobility, and they possess built - in spectral camouflage that renders them invisible to security cameras and most forms of electronic surveillance.ㅤ ⃰ THE ASURA. ㅤ Comprised of four rogue Ghostrunners, the Asura resurface one year after the Architect's second death at Jack's hands. Their leader, Mitra the Resurrected, plans on sowing chaos within Dharma, guided by revenge against the city and its creator. The Architect once took everything from Mitra, and so Mitra will now lay waste to the Architect's most prized creation and raze the remains of humanity to the ground. Alongside him work Madhu the Dismantler, Rahu the Avatar, and Ahriman the Destroyer.
